Your pregnancy appointments timeline

Dr Reema Kohli is committed to ensuring your well-being throughout your pregnancy journey. After booking your appointment, you can rest assured knowing that she is available 24/7 to provide care and support. Should you experience any evolving complications such as bleeding, pain, or reduced baby movements, you can reach her immediately via her emergency pager number.

For uncomplicated pregnancies, you can expect the following antenatal timeline. However, if your pregnancy is a high-risk pregnancy the appointments will be more frequent

  • Initial consultation: 6 to 8 weeks

  • Routine check-ups: Every 4 weeks until 28 weeks

  • Bi-weekly visits: From 28 to 36 weeks

  • Weekly appointments: From 36 weeks until delivery

Dr Kohli is here to support you at every stage, ensuring your pregnancy is as smooth and healthy as possible.

  • Pregnancy booking with us

  • Introduction to Reema and our midwive

  • Fees, private hospital booking in

  • Booking in blood tests will be organised

| **7-10 weeks** |

  • First appointment with Reema

  • Internal (vaginal) scan by Reema to visualise location of pregnancy and confirm due date

  • Genetic screening tests for common chromosomal conditions such as Down syndrome

  • Genetic carrier screening tests for both partners to evaluate baby’s risk of inheritable conditions

  • Healthy pregnancy habits (e.g., what foods to avoid, good hand hygiene, adequate nutrition, exercise, weight management)

  • Genetic screening tests are organised


| **10-14 weeks** |

  • Phone call from midwife

  • Routine visit with Reema

  • Information on test results

  • Organisation and review of 13-week scan with Monash Ultrasound for Women (MUFW)


| **17 weeks** |

  • Phone call from midwife

  • Consolidation of all investigations

  • Organising the 20 week morphology scan


| **20-22 weeks** |

  • Routine visit with Reema

  • Whooping cough vaccine available in rooms from 20 weeks

  • Fluvax available in rooms at any stage of pregnancy

  • 20-week ultrasound scan (detailed fetal anatomy scan with MUFW and placental location)

  • Discuss ultrasound findings | 20-week ultrasound scan |


| **26-28 weeks** |

  • Routine visit with Reema

  • Chase 26-week blood test results | Organise 26-week blood tests (diabetes and anaemia screen) |

| **32 weeks** |

  • Routine check-up with Reema

  • Discussion on mode and type of birth

  • Reminder to write up birth plan if preferred


| **34-36 weeks** |

  • Routine check-up with Reema|

  • Fetal growth ultrasound scan with MUFW<br>Group B streptococcus vaginal swab test |


| **37-40 weeks** |

  • Weekly visits with Reema

  • Discussion on timing and mode of birth |


| **41 weeks** |

  • Discussion on and booking of induction of labour

  • Fetal CTG (welfare and heartbeat monitoring) |
